The Pony Rule Book shall govern all play, with the exception of the following local rules:
  1. A team failing to field at least eight uniformed players within 10 minutes after scheduled starting time of a game, or at any time during the game, shall forfeit the game.

  2. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP is a must. After each game all players and coaches must shake hands. (Penalty of forfeit).

  3. Parents are required to help with field maintenance and field clean up.

  4. Base runners must slide on any close play at the plate or be subject to being called out. Intentionally knocking over an infielder or catcher in the field of play can result in being ejected from the game.

  5. A pitcher, starter or reliever may not return to pitch once removed from that position. A starting pitcher who is replaced and comes out of the line-up may re-enter the game at another position however must return to the same spot in the batting order.  

  6. All Pony players in attendance must play at least Four (4) full innings of all full games. Explanation: Starting players who have been removed from the game may re-enter the game one time. However, once a substitute has been removed from the game, he many not re-enter. The one exception to these rules is in case of disciplinary actions.

  7. Pitching restrictions are as follows: 5 innings a day and 10 innings a week, THIS INCLUDES SCHOOL BALL GAMES!  All pitchers are to be held to the 10 innings    during school ball season.  Teams that have back-to-back games or three games in one week, are given 12 innings for their pitchers for that particular week - Sunday through Saturday ONLY WHEN OUTSIDE SCHOOL BALL SEASON. The forty-hour rest rule is still in effect.

  8. All players must be dressed in full uniforms (hat, pants, shirts, socks). All shirts must be tucked in pants, no exceptions. Penalty: Player will not be allowed on the field.

  9. The home team is responsible for field preparation before and after games.

  10. Unless in the first or third base coaches box, no coach may be on the playing field by more than an arms length of the dugout gate.

  11. Umpires will supply two official game balls before the games starts.

  12. Teams will use a recreational batting order with free substitutions.
